Do you offer an employee discount?

We get a lot of questions pertaining to the NASA employee discount we offer. Below is a list of common questions and answers.

  • Do you offer an employee discount?
    • Yes! Simply sign up with your NASA.gov email. We verify all new accounts internally and move you into the customer group at the end of each business day.
  • Who is eligible for an employee account?
    • Anyone; Civil Servant, contractor, and other personnel, as long as they have a NASA.gov email address.
  • How long does it take for my employee discount to be active?
    • Typically, accounts are verified internally at the end of each business day. It is best practice to wait to place your first order until the day after you sign up for an account so that we have time to move you into the correct customer group. On weekends, new accounts get verified at the close of business on Monday.
  • Does my employee discount combine with current sales that are happening?
    • No, you will receive the higher of the two discounts. If we have a 15% sitewide sale happening, you will not be eligible for 25% off. If we have a 10% sale happening, it will not combine for 20% off.
  • I signed up for an account, but I cannot access the employee only page, nor do I see my discount being applied, why?
    • If you just signed up, please give us time to verify your account. We are a small team and we have to perform this process manually as we cannot connect our system to NASA's in order to automate the process. If it has been more than a few days since you set up your account, please contact us. We do our best to catch every account and verify them, but we aren't robots so we may miss an account from time to time.
  • Is my employee discount active if I retire or after I leave NASA?
    • No, when we received notification of a bounced email address, we check the account internally and if you are no longer employed at NASA, we move your account to the general customer group. You will still be able to access your account and place orders, but you will no longer have access to employee only pricing or products. We also recommend you update the accounts email address at that time so you continue receiving order status updates and tracking info.
